Five More Social Media Content Ideas for Small Businesses

ree

Over the last few weeks, I've explained how small businesses can benefit from social media and the importance of posting consistently. Last week, I provided content ideas on what resonates with small business audiences. I have 15 of my favorite types of content. I offered five last week, and I'm providing five more ideas this week.

10. Product Spotlights: Highlight specific products or services, detailing their benefits and features. This can help potential customers understand what you offer and encourage purchases.

9. Seasonal or Holiday Posts: Create themed content around holidays or seasons, showcasing how your business fits into those occasions. This can include festive promotions or themed product showcases. Most automatically think of the major holidays, like the New Year, Valentine's Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, etc. But if you search online, you'll find that almost every day and month has a theme. For example, last Thursday was World Laughter Day! I created a post about World Laughter Day for a client, and their audience loved it.

8. Contests and Giveaways: Organize contests that encourage participation and sharing. This can increase your reach and attract new followers. These contests don't have to be extravagant or cost a lot of money. An example of a contest is posting a fun picture about your business and asking your followers to create the best caption. Trivia questions are also always entertaining. Develop a trivia question related to your company; the winner is highlighted on your page!

7. Industry News and Trends: Share relevant news, trends, or updates in your industry. This keeps your audience informed and positions your business as a knowledgeable resource.

6. User-Generated Content: Encourage customers to share their experiences with your products or services and repost their content. This not only provides social proof but also increases engagement.

By consistently implementing these posts, small businesses can engage their audience, build brand loyalty, and increase their visibility on social media platforms.
